DC is a very diverse city where you can meet people from various cultures and backgrounds. There are many fantastic museums that you can go to for free. Many people really enjoy the Air and Space Museum, where you can walk in a real space craft and eat space ice cream.

I’ve been teaching English in Japan for the past 25 years, and have been at Unitas teaching Eikaiwa and university classes for Teikyo Hachioji since 2014.

I like running, programming and karate.

If you like baseball, Chicago has 2 teams. Wrigley Field, where the Chicago Cubs play is the second oldest baseball stadium in the US!

I’ve been teaching professionally since 2012. I taught in China, as well as at Eikaiwas and a Jr./Sr. high school here in Japan.

My hometown is very beautiful. I think everyone knows about Hawaii, but my favorite place is the north side of the island. You can see a waterfall and see many beaches there.

I’ve lived in Japan for about 8 years. I taught English since 2016.

I like winter sports like skiing/snowboarding. There is no snow in Hawaii, so I love being in Japan in winter.

Q3. What’s your hometown like?
The people in Miami can be very warm and friendly and treat strangers like family. Just don’t drive with them! Arcade Odyssey is one of my favorite places to check out unique gaming cabinets. Also, the music scene is something you can’t miss. I recommend festivals like Three Points and Art Base.
Q4. What’s your English teaching experience?
In university, I used to volunteer to speak with students from abroad. I enjoyed it and wanted to teach English! So, I got my degree and teaching certificate and moved to Japan to teach Eikaiwa for 3 years.

I enjoy recording music and exercise in my free time.
Q6. What’s your favorite food?
I love cinnamon rolls.
Q7. What do you like about Japan?
I really love Japanese music from the ‘80s and ‘90s. For example, bunds like Yura Yura Teikoku.

Unitas has teachers from all around the world like Singapore, the Philippines, Australia and America. Please come on by and learn about our teachers’ culture. I’m sure we can learn a lot about Japanese culture from you, too.

Manila, Philippines
Q3. What’s your hometown like?
Manila is the capital of the Philippines, so it’s unsurprisingly lively all-year-round. The city offers a blend of tradition and modernity. You can visit Fort Santiago which is a heritage site and have a glance of the Spanish-era. You can even get on a horse-drawn carriage that will tour you around this historical site.
Q4. What’s your English teaching experience?
I have worked at an Eikaiwa for 3.5 years. I have also taught all levels of Eiken to elementary, junior-high school and high school students. I’m also a corporate trainer and I teach global business skills to businesspeople from different industries.

Hiking, Traveling

Tiramisu, Potatoes, Udon
Q7. What do you like about Japan?
I like how efficient the transportation system is in Japan. I love hiking, so I’m happy that I can easily access the trails using the public transportation.

Manila , Philippines
Q3. What’s your hometown like?
Manila is a very big and busy city. I enjoy the fruits there a lot. Melons in the Philippines are very cheap. We can drink fresh melon juice for about 40 yen per glass. Please enjoy the fruits when you visit!
Q4. What’s your English teaching experience?
I taught at a language school in Manila for more than a year. My students were people from different countries like Saudi Arabia, Mongolia, Vietnam, Italy, China and Japan too. When I moved to Japan, I worked as an ALT for a junior high school in Yokohama. I enjoyed my time there learning about Japanese culture through my students.

Playing basketball, Dancing, Film photography

In Japan, it’s negitoro. In the Philippines, it’s sisig. It’s delicious food made from pig ears.

I enjoy that most places are quiet and peaceful. It’s a big difference from my hometown.

It’s a garden city with lots of greenery. It’s also a food haven. I am proud of our hospitality and diversity. Be sure to visit Gardens By The Bay.

I taught elementary to high school (both public and international). I also taught non-native speakers in Brazil and Palestine as part of volunteer work during school summer vacations.
